Geant4 Environmental Variables

Information on environment variables

If you are using the standard G4 Makefiles, you will also need to set the environment variable G4WORKDIR to the location where your G4 user code resides (check the Geant4 Home Page   for more details).

cd $GEANT4_DIR
Check to make sure that you are in the right directory and that the necessary G4 variables have been definied.
You will find the following commands useful:

$G4SYSTEM, $G4WORKDIR, $G4LIB, $G4TMP, $G4BIN, $G4INCLUDE, $G4USE_G3TOG4, $G4VIS_BUILD_VRML_DRIVER, $G4LIB_BUILD_SHARED, and $G4INSTALL should all be defined.
$G4INSTALL will point to geant4source.
