The Geant4 web pages are maintained by the FNAL Geant4 support group. If you are not a member of the support group, you do not have permission to change the web pages. We suggest that you report the problem to geant4-users@fnal.gov.

The Geant4 web pages are maintained in Kerberized cvs. They can be edited on any machine. When you submit your changes to cvs, the appropriate web page(s) will be automatically updated on our web server within 10 minutes. This means that you do not need direct access to the web directory.

In addition, we enourage you to use the template below for your web page. The template includes a top header with navigation bar, a simple bottom navigation bar, and a link to the Fermilab security and policy pages.

Please note that cgi scripts are maintained in a separate directory from html pages and will need their own cvs modules.

Modules and Templates

• Geant4 web page template as html and text
  Be sure to change the document title, which appears in two places.
  To get the correct source, save the text page above, not the html.
• Everything is in a singe geant4 module.
• Common images (e.g., balls) are maintained in the geant4/webimages subdirectory.
• The Server Side Includes are maintained in the geant4/webincludes subdirectory.

The cvs repository requires a valid Kerberos ticket for access.
If you will be maintaining Geant4 web pages, please send mail to garren@fnal.gov requesting that you be added to the .k5login file for cvscepa.

Access from a unix machine:

• Define CVSROOT to be :ext:cvscepa@cepasrv1.fnal.gov:/home/local/cvscepa/CEPA
• Define CVS_RSH to be either /usr/krb5/bin/rsh or /usr/bin/ssh
  If your machine is running SLF4.x, you probably need /usr/bin/ssh, otherwise just try both and see which one works.
• Check that access is working with cvs co -c
  This will give you a list of the modules in the repository.
• Checkout the appropriate module
• Edit your files
• To check your changes before commiting them, open the web page as a local file with your preferred browser. Note that you will not be able to see the server side includes when opening files
• Commit your changes
• Be sure to use cvs update before making changes if you keep a checked-out copy of the module on your computer.
